Tidy Up Tuesday - 1000th Post Prize Wrap-Up

Welcome to another edition of Tidy Up Tuesday!!  A little over a month ago, I celebrated my 1000th post here on The Joyful Quilter.  The prize, because there HAS to be a prize, was a "Bigger Boat".  Anyone interested in winning this NEW size Quilted Scrap Basket just needed to leave a comment with the color they would choose.  (The color played no part in Mr. Random's selection - I've got them ALL!)

The lucky winner was Cheryl @ Teapots 2 Quilting.  Congratulations, Cheryl!!  

Cheryl had indicated "RED (or blue or purple or yellow)."

We had this following interaction spawning from that comment:

As long as it is NOT pink, I'll be happy.  Pink just isn't my color.  

I probably wouldn't win anyways.

Since she was somewhat indecisive at the time of her comment, I asked for  clarification when I emailed to say she had won.  This was her response:

How Cool!  Either RED or multi colored, your choice.  I do love brights!

I let the follow refrain race through my head on repeat for several days...  RED.  All colors.  NO pink!  RED.  All colors.  NO pink!

And then, I found a couple of Orphan blocks and created a couple more to round out my surprise:

Once the basket panel was done, I layered it up and quilted it...

... With wavy lines using my (replacement) Pfaff:

This was during PINK month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, but I noticed a small red scrap in my (late 70's/early 80's?) tulip trashcan:

Soon enough, the basket was formed and the binding was attached:

I still need to learn more about design placement:

Ready to head out to the post office for my VERY 1st (public) errand since our state's Stay-at-Home order went into effect...

With the photos out of the way, I was off to the post office.  A few hours later, I sent an email to Cheryl to let her know that her prize was on the way.  It was nothing short of a miracle that it was done SEW soon, as I normally have to deliberate much longer over a custom-made prize design.

Bonus...

Cheryl received her "Bigger Boat" by the middle of the month - two full days before the anticipated delivery date and thinks it's great!!  :o))
