Sew Some Love Sunday - H2H Link Party!!!

Welcome to another edition of Sew Some Love Sunday!!  Today, I'm here to Link Up with Sarah @ Confessions of a Fabric Addict.  It's Hands2Help season and you may already know that I'm participating, again, this year.

 In this year's program post, Sarah requested the following:
On Sunday, March 24th, there will be a linky party where you can post links to your favorite on-line tutorials!  It could be a tutorial for a quilt pattern, or a technique like machine binding, or even a recipe for your favorite "while-I'm-quilting" snack or crock-pot meal!  You don't have to write the tutorial, you can link up to another blogger's tutorial.  If you love it, someone else might too!

 In case you missed the announcement, there are 5 charities from which to choose.  This allows for YOU to choose an organization that meets the parameters that you set for your participation.  Each one has their own desired size requirements.

 Is there enough time in the day???

 Since I needed something small, I will be making a quilt for Jack's Basket.  The requested size for this charity quilt is approximately 36 x 36".  Given my busy schedule, I thought this would be a manageable size for me to complete.

 What shall I make??

 I was inspired by the quilts that Nancy at Grace and Peace Quilting made last year.  (53 of them!!!)  She used 4 FQs and the Simple Gifts pattern from the mini book Fat Quarter Love.  The resulting quilt finishes at 30" x 36".  That's a fairly close match to the desired size.  Here is the final quilt of 2018 that Nancy made for Jack's Basket:

Quilty Orphan Adoption - Spring 2019 - Tall Ship Edition


Welcome to the Spring Quilty Orphan Adoption Event!!  Thank you to Cynthia at Quilting is More Fun Than Housework for inspiring us to dig through our sewing rooms to give a new lease on life to our unloved projects.  I had planned on having a number of items up for adoption.  However, my plans for the past week didn't allow me to come up with as many projects as intended.

 Here is my offering:


It's not much, but it will be ONE item OUT of my sewing room!!
(Sorry, Barry!  I'm just NOT a boat person.)

 Do you (or a friend) have an affinity for nautical quilts?  Perhaps, you have a loved one who is all about sailing. Would YOU like to give this 12.5" Tall Ship quilt block a new home?

ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC19 - Week 12

Welcome to Week 12 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  The past seven days have been quite challenging.  Last weekend went well enough, I even slept in, but the "work week" got off to a rocky start and didn't get better from there.  Apparently, sleep deprivation REALLY doesn't work for me.  Fortunately, the Spring GREEN in the garden brightened my days a bit:




SUNDAY - Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I spent the day working on finishing the quilting on this quilt.  Please note the bits of GREEN:


MONDAY - I released a NEW edition of Mail Call Monday:



I also attended Quilt Guild and delivered a small quilted item made from these Sea GREEN scraps:

TUESDAY - It was a small group at Girls Night Out this month.  Two of us and an out-of-town guest.  Heather received this not GREEN Quilted Mug Rug:

WEDNESDAY - I released the next Wonderful Wednesday post and here I am, still sporting my GREEN, as March isn't over yet:

THURSDAY - Too bad Color Two wasn't in my knitting bag!!  I finally finished the border on my Hoodie Shawl Cardigan:

FRIDAY - Today was a rare day.  I stayed in bed ALL day!  Apparently, I've come down with the plague.  OK, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration.  Anyway, I feel terrible and I'm busy being a (feverish, coughing) lump.

 Remember...

There's still ONE more week of GREEN left.  Get sewing!!  :P


SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day over on Angela's So Scrappy blog.  There is sure to be a number of GREEN projects for you to enjoy.  I look forward to checking in on all of the RSC Quilters, but that will have to wait.

Wonderful Wednesday - A Show of Rubies

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  I'm here to tell you about my the 40th Anniversary Exhibit for the Durham Orange Quilters Guild.

 What a wonderful show!  Without entry fees and admission charges. Even without vendors.  It was a beautiful culmination of the Guild's Ruby Anniversary and an AWESOME way to spend Worldwide Quilting Day!!
