Wonderful Wednesday - Fiber, Fabric, and Friends

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  Today I'm here to share last week's fiber and fabric adventures.  This past weekend I attended Carolina Fiber Fest and the Capital Quilt Guild Show.

Come with me to see the highlights from Friday...

These three friends from my Knit Group met me at Lou's Bakery in Mebane:

I ran into a friend from Quilt Guild:

And met one of the members from the Quilters Knitting group on Ravelry:

Saturday at the Fiber Fest...

You may not be aware, but I love all things Iris.  It's my favorite flower and I fervently wanted to bring this yarn home with me:

This morning I was accompanied by this beautiful soul:

Oh, look!!  A knitted quilt:

Speaking of quilting...

Carol from my Weekly Quilt Group on my way out:

Then I was on my way to visit the Quilt Show...

I bought a raffle ticket for this quilt:

I also saw a few small quilts that I quite liked...

A sweet little mosaic:

This interestingly constructed garden quilt:

And a modern wall hanging in a favorite color combo of mine:

There were plenty of other quilts on display...

But this unusual "T-shirt" quilt made of hockey towels...

And this lovely rainbow quilt particularly caught my eye:

Kirsten and I ended up both shopping at Schoolhouse Quilts at the same time:

It was good to see my friend Carolyn and catch up a little bit.  She was the first quilter I met when we moved to North Carolina more than 2 decades ago:

The winning quilts that I photographed will be featured in tomorrow's post.  Come back then for more quilty eye candy.

In case you were wondering...

These were the only purchases I made all weekend:

Along with a cute quilty hair clip that I've already managed to misplace.  :o((

Until next time...
Have fun with fiber, FABRIC, and friends!!!

  1. How nice that you could attend this show and see so many friends. The people at the show can sometimes be the icing on the cake, when the "cake" is the quilt show. You shared some nice-looking "cakes"... ha, ha, quilts. And it seems you had admirable restraint when it came to vendor shopping. Good job. Hope you find your hair clip!
