Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday here at The Joyful Quilter!! I'm here to share some exciting news. It's time for a happy dance! I've finished another quilt project. Not just any project, but a UFO on my Fall 2025 UFO Club list.
This project, began in my local quilt bee's Faces Workshop inspired by the work of quilt artist Freddy Moran, has been on and off the list for a number of years. This quarter, the stars aligned and "Bright Eyes" (2021) has been completed.
Bonus Points...
It meets the Light and/or Dark NEUTRAL prompt this month at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! :o))
Why did this long abandoned quilt project suddenly warrant attention, Joyful??
Because it also met this year's Making Faces Challenge at my local Quilt Guild. That's what really moved the project up the list. When this month began, it was only a quilt top.
Before the middle of the month, it had been quilted...
A scrap of binding had been selected...
And, after several long years, my quilter's block was smashed. A shirt had finally been fashioned with a scrap of binding being selected and applied soon after:
At long last, here is Bright Eyes, finished and gracing the gallery wire:
Approximately 17" x 18"
Special thanks to the guild members who participated in this year's challenge, pushing me to meet my goal. Bright Eyes was made with fabric scraps given to me by a friend.
Until next time...
Mark another UFO off the list!!
Yay, a finish on the UFO list! I love what you used for hair :-)
ReplyDeleteA finish always feels good, but when it's from the UFO list it's even better. That is a very cute little project.
