ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC20 - Week 29

Welcome to Week 29 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that the year is more that halfway done.  Only three months of colors remain to be revealed for this year's Challenge.  The last two months of the year are for filling in and finishing up our projects.  The unofficial colors for those months are light and dark neutrals, respectively.

This week was a week filled with sewing tasks.  (Just the way I like my weeks!)  Read on, if you would like to see how I filled my time...

SUNDAY - Mask Mania continues.  No photos of the steps that I completed today.  I did choose another project to qualify for the RSC.  It's a basket with a rainbow of colors on a Dark BLUE ground:

MONDAY - Mask Mania complete!  For this mask, I used the template from Riley Blake, but went my own way when (not) following the pattern:

Here is a garden photo.  I skipped the side pleats and opted for ear loops instead of fabric ties.  The colors are true and you might be able to see the nose and chin pleats better:

These are the 14 friends that I made along with the last mask.  They are like potato chips, you can't make just one!  I made them using three sizes of my favorite 3-D mask tutorial posted HERE:

This batch of masks (for 3 of my knitting friends) also got a garden photo to show the variety of scrap chunks used in their making:

TUESDAY - I released a Tidy Up Tuesday post before heading out to meet with a couple of friends for coffee outside Filament.  Knitting was also on the agenda.  I only wish the lighting hadn't washed out the rich dark chocolate color of my shawl project:

Socially distant.  Outside.  In the shade.  Yes.  I'm terrible at selfies:

Then after a trip to the post office, I stopped by Knittingsuek's to make an exchange.  My cash for her unusable Angela Walter's rulers:

Before heading home, I detoured by Dee Dee's to pick up a donation block from another of our quilting friends...

Thanks to Ruth S., we might now have enough blocks to make a nice sized quilt for another of our Weekly Quilt Group's charities:

After lunch, I had one more mask to make.  These are the fabric options for the pattern from Laundry Basket Quilts:

I cut for the large size mask, which turned out larger than expected:

And later, pulled fabric for the new Block Drive at Covered in Love:

WEDNESDAY - Putting yesterday's scraps to work:

Then, I made yet another mask from my favorite mask pattern:

THURSDAY - ZoomBEE met in the morning...

After lunch, I unboxed my A-6 Mystery quilt, shown in the background below...

... And set up an impromptu Zoom meeting with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color. While our meeting was riddled with technical difficulties (and internet interruption), it lasted just long enough to see each other's projects.  Then time sped by, as we enjoyed a lovely phone chat afterwards:

After dinner, I dug out a UFO that hasn't seen the light of day in several years.  I laid out the blocks and made a few design decisions:

FRIDAY - Wonder of wonders, I was actually the first to arrive at our weekly ZoomKNIT meeting.  That really was a first!!  Here I am, waiting for the others to arrive:

After lunch, I went for a drive out in the country and spotted a Barn Quilt, just before the turnoff to my friend's house:

I was on a mask delivery mission.  Two of the 14 masks made were for Beth and her husband.  We enjoyed a masked visit on her patio...

... As well as a garden tour, where I photographed this beautiful BLUE hydrangea plant in full bloom:

Since I wasn't far from another friend's house, I dropped off her family's masks, as well:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY at Angela's So Scrappy blog.  I'm running a bit late, as my post wasn't as close to being completed as I thought it was.  I'm off to join in the rainbow scrappy fun now!

Visiting the RSC Quilters will be followed with a masked meet-up.  Oh, wait!  Make that a mask meet-up, as I will be dropping off masks for a friend.  My reward was FREE Whit's Frozen Custard (after this photo was taken.)  Yum!!  Cindy tried on her new mask after our tasty treat, but I forgot to get a picture.  :o((

She was very happy with her new mask!  The one pictured feels confining.  The one I made is more comfortable and she can breathe easier.  Win!!
