There is a bit of good news, though, so keep reading...
FRIDAY - Another minimal collage. This one with a TRAVEL prompt. I accepted a map of Boston from a special book that Britt is beginning to cannibalize. I thought it would be perfect to pair with the boarding pass that I found in a recent thrift store book score. A couple of images from a travel article in an old Quilter's Home magazine filled out the design:
SUNDAY - I started the week with a Zoom call to my good friend Knittingsuek...
Then PURPLEafied my gallery wire display:
Just before lunch, I headed over to B's house for an Artist's Play Date:
I worked with PURPLE papers...
MONDAY - Today was a work day. I was rewarded with a Quordle WIN:
TUESDAY - I combined scraps of PURPLE paper with a bit of the same color paint for today's Fodder Challenge lesson on nested "luggage" tags. The page begged to be decorated with flowers:
WEDNESDAY - Spent a portion of the morning digging through the PURPLE scrap basket at the top of the post. Here's what I found:
The off-cut corners from the making of that Quilted Scrap Basket. I ripped out the stitching on this one...
... And I'm in the process of turning the other one into a little pin cushion:
During my weekly Zoom call with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color I was oh-SEW-happy to report that I had actually done some sewing:
THURSDAY - Another work day, another Quordle WIN. This time with a banner that flashed across the screen saying I had gotten a Birdie award for getting all four words in only SEVEN guesses, but it disappeared before posing for its photo op:
SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.
Today's ICAD prompt was "Orange" so I have fun with this collage:
I went for full coverage, but need to go have the prescription checked. The glasses are tinted AND polarized, but I'm still getting sun glare headaches and I can't seem to see to read book print with them (even though they were made with my regular progressive script.) Anyone have experience with this issue? I was really looking forward to being able to read my book out on the back deck, by the pool, or at the beach. At the moment, none of those scenarios are remotely possible.
Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!
Hey, that purple scrap basket looks remarkably similar to mine! :) And I missed the word "savvy" in that first Quordle, too. Love the little pincushion! I need to do something with my offcuts, too.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely looks like you're having fun with the paper crafting, Joy! I love the one with the purple flowers. Those off cut pieces from your scrap baskets will make neat little things. A pincushion, a mug rug - both fun!
ReplyDeleteYou had a creative week with a good variety of media. The little pincushion was a great idea to use that little piece. I’m intrigued by the journaling ideas, but haven’t given it a try. — Sara F
ReplyDeletehope you figure out the sunglasses soon
ReplyDeleteYou have had a wonderful and creative week. I loved seeing all that you did with fabric , paint , and paper. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to your purple creations, I noted you wearing purple in a few of these photos. You take a challenge to the extreme, don't you?! Ha, ha. I'm sorry to know about your eye problem. Seems you're doing all the right stuff to get it corrected, but what do I know? I'm having vision problems too. Have my appointment Wednesday and expect to perhaps learn I need cataract surgery... maybe? I hope you can find a solution to seeing small print. We NEED our eyesight to fully engage in our favorite creative hobbies!
ReplyDeleteI just don't have purple scraps. Wonder what that means? Not even purple thread. Like your purple work though. Looks like a very busy week. I can see why it dissolved.
ReplyDeleteI love the pincushions! Nice to get them from scraps even! lol The journaling is growing-good job. I struggle with reading in the sun even with glasses, too, so I don't have any solutions except -read in the shade! lol
ReplyDeleteI love my prescription sunglasses and read & knit just fine in them. I think you need an adjustment. RSC Purple and ICAD Orange -- beautiful combination!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying your paper creativity very much, well, no surprise there! I get sun glare headache even with sunglasses. Sadly I haven't found a solution either.

I was hoping to see purple nail polish but purple t-shirt and snazzy sunglasses do not disappoint!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Purple minis on the wall look so happy!
ReplyDeleteand your art play day sounds amazing!
Hey Joy. Left you a message on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteThis new paper endeavor looks like fun.
First cataract removed today.
