Welcome to another edition of Tidy Up Tuesday!! I have been working on a family of gifts. That brings me to the final family member.
You might recall seeing THIS scrappy piece a couple of weeks ago:
The design was somewhat less than successful, but with some outline quilting (done in black thread) it makes a fun I Spy:
I searched the studio and came up with this shirt from the recently closed J. Crew brand...
... That a used for one of the two masks that I've made thus far:
This time, I used the J Crew shirt for the backing of the pillow I'm working on for a young friend:
I used the front of the shirt to include the pocket...
Then, created a secret pocket, as well:
Cute pillow. When I used shirts for the grandson's picnic quilts, I didn't include pockets, but did include a piece with the label.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the pillow. It's "L"ovely! ;^)
ReplyDeleteWow! You really know how to use a shirt, don't you? Were there any scraps left at all? I love everything you made with it, especially those pockets.
ReplyDeleteThat turned into a very cute pillow, Joy! I love the idea of using a shirt for the back of it, and including the pocket, too!
ReplyDeleteSew clever!!! The recepient should be super happy with it. It's adorable. I love the way you put the outline around the L. Great job. Love the designer mask too!
