ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC19 - Week 50

Welcome to Week 50 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  I've got good news... And I've got bad news.  Yep!  I've got both.

SUNDAY - Yesterday, I picked up my piecing machine from the repair shop.  I sounded (and stitched) like its wonderful old self... For about 6 hours!!  Then... Do things continue like that?

Not SEW much.  :o((

I was able to make...

2 blocks for Cover in Love:

Some good news...

I also finished my Jumbo Green Scrap Basket...

... Before something inside the machine began making a grinding noise.  AGAIN!!!  :o((

MONDAY - That new basket has been (over)filled with scraps:

Gray green, yellow green, and olive green scraps are stuffed inside:

My piecing machine???

It's back in the shop.  Again.  Hopefully, the issue will be resolved quickly!  I keep thinking of things that I need or want to do (before realizing that I don't have access to my trusty Pfaff.)

TUESDAY - It's Quilt Bee night!  The ONLY evening meeting for this month.  I took my newest scrap basket:

WEDNESDAY - Today, I took a trip around the world. Well, maybe not, but it felt like it!!  I started out in Mebane for coffee and a visit with Threebagsfulled, who is busy designing another fun mystery knit (while writing a new knitting mystery) at the same time she is recovering from surgery. Next, I ran an errand and stopped by the house to pick up something I needed to take to Raleigh with me.  Then, I was off to Chapel Hill for a bit of Christmas shopping at Southern Season's Going Out of Business SALE (the website will still have all of their items available online.)  I will miss browsing their huge brick-and-mortar store.  :o((

Finally, I made my way to Thread Waggle Quilting in Raleigh.  I was there all of 10 MINUTES!!  Sigh... It couldn't be helped.  On the plus side, I got backing for my next niece's wedding quilt AND stopped by Red, Hot, and Blue for BBQ to take home for dinner.  :o))

To round out the day's events...

I did some quilting my current client quilt:

THURSDAY(If you look closely at the bottom left corner of the photo below, you will see) The end is in sight:

More good news...

I'm happy to report that I finished this up after dinner this evening.

FRIDAY - DS2 and I visited our local Whit's Frozen Custard shop to check out the Flavor of the Month Day:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day over at Angela's So Scrappy blog.  The RSC Quilters have been busy trying to finish up this year's quilt(s.)  You may want to stop by to see the new additions.

I'll head over later.  Right now, I'm on my way out the door.  Our Quilt Bee's Holiday Pot Luck is today and there's a meeting with Show and Tell before that.

No worries... I'll be thinking scrappy thoughts.  :o))

Until next time...
Get Scrappy!!!

  1. Oh no! That machine is just not happy! I still had issues with mine last night and did the change needle, change thread and rethreaded everything top and bottom. Fingers crossed it will continue to be happy. Hope they are able to fix it correctly this time... or does Santa need to go shopping??

  3. I hear the frustration over your machine... my RSC2019 blocks won't become a flimsy until the new year; right now, I'm not even sure where they are. I have another BOM2019 that is also waiting to be made into a flimsy so they're probably in close proximity to each
other - consoling each other because I've been ignoring them and trying to get Christmas gifts done in between what seems like endless doctor visits or physical therapy or stops at the pharmacy to get scripts filled. Have fun at the potluck :)

  6. Good Grief! Again! This machine problem is starting to look like the movie Groundhog Day! Unbelievable and unacceptable! Maybe Santa is listening and he'll bring you a brand new one ... or give you the address to a GOOD sewing machine doctor. Sheesh! Hang in there; better days are coming. ;^)

  8. I hope your poor machine gets a correct diagnosis and cure soon! So frustrating, I'm sure. Meanwhile, though, your new green basket is the bee's knees and that client quilt looks super! :)
