Sew Some Love Sunday - Jack's Basket

Welcome to the first edition of Sew Some Love Sunday for 2018!!  This week, I'd like to share a new-to-me charity.  My friend, Louise, from Quilt Odessey, discovered Jack's Basket along with an on-line quilt guild that she just joined.

I make it my mission to share any new donation opportunities just in case the charity "speaks" to you.  I don't know about you, but I'm always on the lookout for more ways to "do good."

Speaking of doing good...

This is the block that I will be mailing off to Kat for Covered in Love this week:

Here is the block that I made for the Thomas Fire drive:

My Quilt Bee is making blocks, also.  These are the blocks that we've collected so far:

Members have additional blocks to bring to our next meeting.  We may even collect enough to make an entire quilt to send!  Let's hope SEW!!!  :o))

Until next time...
Sew Some Love!!!

  4. Thanks for your comment! Its always nice to find a fellow North Carolinian quilter. I have the desire to donate quilts. Thanks for the ideas. I would like to donate quilts to UNC Chapel Hill Pediatric Cardiology patients, but don't know if there is a way to do that. My son was a patient there 34 years ago. But any charity would be great. I would even have time to make a block for the "Covered In Love" block drive.

  5. Thanks for sharing the different charities. I sent 4 blocks for the Thomas Fire drive. Your block turned out nicely. I went monochromatic with my versions. I'm not quite adept at mixing colors in one scrappy block.

  6. Thanks for your comment on my blog, encouragement is so lovely! I love your blocks where a secondary pattern jumps out when you put them together,

  7. Thanks for sharing info on all the block drives. They often seem more doable to me than getting a whole quilt together. I think the Thomas Fire blocks are so striking when laid out!
