ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC 17 - Week 45

Welcome to Week 45 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week was a little bit different from most weeks in the recent past. Have a look at how things panned out...

SUNDAY - Blog hopping and searching my scrap stash for bits of BROWN fabric for my RSC projects.  I found a gallons sized bag:

MONDAY - Knit Group.  Followed by a manicure...

... In a rich shade of chocolate BROWN.

When I got home, I checked the mailbox.  Guess what?!  I got mail.

TUESDAY - Surgical assistant.  OK, not really, but I did have to deliver DH to the oral surgeon and bring him back home.  (And baby him since he has a boo-boo in his mouth... or 4 since he got all 4 wisdom teeth out!)

While he was having all that fun, I was struggling through a few more rows of my Hoodie Shawl Cardigan:

Did a bit of sewing, while keeping a close eye on "the patient."  A DrEAMI little project inspired by THIS POST at Grace and Peace Quilting.  My mini-mini version uses 1.5" squares for the 9-Patch blocks and 1" squares in for the cornerstones:

WEDNESDAY - Work, work, work, but nothing got done!  Some days are like that, aren't they?

Well...

I did manage to get some pressing...

 and trimming done:

These are Bonus Triangles from the CCLQ Bluff Thank You Quilt:

THURSDAY - Weekly Quilt Group.  I worked on a bit more trimming of those HSTs for a bit of design play:

And...

A scrap delivery.  Thanks, Candy!!  Lots of nice bits:

Thanks, Candy!

Here are the scraps that Joanna brought a few weeks ago:

Thanks, JoJo!!

FRIDAY - Coffee Club/Sweater Class was canceled in favor of spending time helping out an old friend.  That was followed up with a sewing session with Needleb.  I assembled a RAINBOW of scraps into a new mini quilt.  It started like this:

SATURDAY - Amazingly enough, it's LINK PARTY day over at So Scrappy's blog.  The time goes by SEW quickly!!

I'm headed to my Monthly Quilt Bee meeting.  You can sneak a peek to see who is doing any BROWN and/or BLACK sewing.  I'll catch up with the RSC Quilters later on.  Here's a BROWN photo from Quilt Group just for Angela and the others:

Until next time...

  1. You have such busy weeks! Hope you got lots of good stitching at least prepped even if you didn't quite make it to the sewing machine.

  2. I was worried about you not reporting in mid-week. Now I understand. Can't wait to see what you are doing with the rainbow pluses.

  3. Lovely little scraps in those bags. Yumm! Wish hubby a speedy recovery. Not sure what CCLQ Buff stands for but there sure is a lot of HSTs on that cutting mat. Enjoy all the fun! ;^)

  5. A busy week. A coincidence: you had scraps given to you by your friend Candy - I was given some scraps on Thursday by my Patchwork friend Candy!

  6. Another busy week! In spite of the RSC color being brown, it was nice to see all your colorful scraps - maybe because the weather here is gray & gloomy!

  12. Hope the patient is on the mend. I think I need to go dig for some darks in the bins to work on my BITA blocks. Hope you get a little more sewing time this week. Your rainbow quilt looks interesting.
